A woman with a big smile, resting her face on her hands, wearing a striped shirt, indoors with a background of bookshelves and art on the wall.

Carol Dronsfield is a Brooklyn, New York-based photographer.

She began her career as an art director in New York, gradually transitioning to photography as a full-time pursuit. Her recent work centers on street photography, seeking out the humanity of her subjects against the often harsh background of their urban surroundings. Carol’s work has been exhibited at the International Center of Photography (ICP), Women Street Photographers Exhibitions, BWAC Gallery Brooklyn, Artsy, and PhotoPlace Gallery.

Her ongoing study of the beach and boardwalk culture of Coney Island has been featured repeatedly on The Pictorial List (www.pictorial-list.com). Beyond capturing an image, Carol’s work captures a moment—revealing, resonant, brimming with life. When Carol isn’t out roaming the streets with her camera, she’s painting in her studio in Industry City, an old warehouse on the Brooklyn waterfront.

In 2024, Carol co-founded Exposure, The Salon for Women Photographers.
